Projects

How projects develop

Stages, preparation, participation and evaluation. A project's stage is kept separate from its evidence, its public visibility and whether people can take part.

The eight stages

Project stages, their public meaning and the record each requires
StagePublic meaningRequired supporting record
1. ProposalAn idea with a stated purpose is being considered.A source or provenance note and an attributed concept.
2. FeasibilitySuitability, demand and requirements are being examined.Accepted review responsibility and scoped questions.
3. Preparing a pilotA bounded pilot is being organised.Defined work, people, permissions, resources and a review plan.
4. Pilot underwayThe approved initial activity has begun.A recorded readiness decision and actual activity.
5. OperatingA continuing activity is available within a defined scope.Current operator, scope, participation terms and operating records.
6. PausedActivity or intake is temporarily stopped.Reason, owner and a review or contact arrangement.
7. CompletedDefined work has ended and can be evaluated.A completion and result record.
8. Closed or archivedThe proposal or activity will not presently continue.Closure reason, record preservation and a public update.

Status changes are dated and attributed to an authorised editor. A dormant proposal does not show a recent date just because the site was redeployed. All six current records are at the first stage, Proposal.

Taking part

An expression of interest helps assess a proposal. Booking or event controls appear only for a confirmed service with real capacity and terms. Results are evaluated against the measures set at the start, including setbacks.
