The needReplanting projects need plants that suit the place and are grown with care. Without a dependable supply, planting work stalls or uses unsuitable stock.Native bees and other pollinators need suitable plants and nesting places. The aim is a practical approach that can be assessed through local observation and follow-up.The first task is to define whether the activity concerns food production, conservation breeding, education or another specific purpose.
Proposed work
  • We are exploring a nursery that can grow suitable seedlings for future replanting projects. The proposal connects propagation, local species knowledge and ongoing care with practical restoration work at agreed sites.
  • The concept would cover seed or stock sourcing, growing space, water, seasonal work, species selection, plant health, distribution and maintenance after planting. Ecological restoration stock is kept distinct from food-growing stock.
  • The proposed project would bring specialist knowledge together with habitat and planting work suited to a particular place.
  • The species, region, proposed intervention and specialist advice are recorded before any relocation or breeding activity is described. Native-bee conservation is kept separate from general honeybee husbandry.
  • The concept record must identify species, water supply, system type, animal care, waste handling and specialist responsibilities.
  • Any proposed stocking or release is a separate question requiring the relevant authorities and technical assessment.

Still outstandingA purpose statement, a small propagation and planting plan, an identified site and named responsible people.A local concept review that identifies which intervention is appropriate.A defined purpose, species and system type, and specialist review of the concept.
Next stepWrite a purpose statement and a small propagation and planting plan with an identified site and responsible people.Hold a local concept review identifying what intervention is appropriate.Define the purpose of the project and seek aquaculture and aquatic ecology expertise before requesting general labour.
